Why Me??
Before u assume anything, let me state this is no crib. The question, nevertheless, raises this doubt. That's why wanted to cast away any such aspersions right away. I have got strict warnings from my colleague against posting any CRIB on my blog. :) And i will try to go by it.
Don't we all at some point or the other keep questioning ourselves this particular question when something particular goes against our wishes. It used to happen with me when i had a torturous time dealing with amoebic infection. And that too, one day prior to my engg exam. In fact, i dread amoebic infection to such an extent that if i am affected by anything other than this i always go back to those days and feel happy that this disease is better than amoebic infection. :)
I came to write about this when i read through one such post on ryze network. Coudlnt hold myself back since it is related to sports. I don't like posting fwds n all on my blog. But i am sure many of us here wont be aware of this particular Arthur Ashe incident. So here, it is.
Arthur Ashe, the legendary Wimbledon player was dying of CANCER. From All over the world, he received letters from his fans, one of which conveyed:
"Why does GOD have to select you for such a bad disease"?
To this Arthur Ashe replied:
The world over 50 Million Children start playing tennis,
5 Million Learn to play tennis,
500,000 Learn professional tennis,
50,000 Come to the circuit,
5000 Reach the grand slam,
50 reach Wimbledon,
4 to semi finals,
and only 2 to the finals
When I was holding a cup, I never asked GOD "Why me?"
And today in pain, I should not be asking GOD "Why me?"
Now, I too, will never ever question, "Why me?".
I thank anitha for posting this on ryze network.
PS: I feel ashamed that even i myself am not much aware of Arthur Ashe's story and his exploits on the court. Will make an effort to find more about him.
Also am receiving comments to highlight the solution part for our sporting woes instead of questions. Will do so in the next posts.

I think i shall profess a bit about the theory of personal spaces.
One may be able to imagine what another person went through(like me imagining ur aomebic infection), but one simply cannot live through that experience. Living through an experience and imagining about it is totally different. For you it might be looking into a different life, like reading a novel or reading history, which is never the same as being there inside the person and feeling the pain.
"Why me???" is not a difficult question to understand eventhough it is impossible to answer satisfactorily. It is a proof that everybody is self centric. Everyone tries to gravitate towards the best options that they have got in their lives(like propose the best gal they have met). When something unfair happens to them(like aomebic infection),which is nobodies fault, they just cannot accept it. Then comes most disheartening cry :-"Why Me????". This is depressing cry as well, for which unfortunately there is no answer, except that sometimes shit does happen.
I suppose God, Karma and all those things that control all those "Why Me???" kind of incidents were invented precisely to answer these questions.
We may have say another 36 years of productive life, which is a very short time, and every day counts. We would be wasting our time and energy for at least a day if we ask that question, because of the simple fact that it has no answer other than saying that there is something called probability and everyones life ain't all that smooth, or as an alternative to believing in some force which controls everything either of which is useless as far as happiness or productivity is concerned(This is solely my opinion. Ideas may differ)
There is no point in cribbing. For me God is just another way for cribbing. Since people get bored of listening to crib, one creates an imaginary friend and then cribs to him :-).
Cheers :-))
i ask that question at least once every day..ok, maybe 2 days...or...well, what the crepes.
there are times i do ask that question.
and end up feeling worse cause, of course, i never find the right answer. so maybe you are right.
maybe i should stop asking that question and just follow the flow.
easier said than done though.
Laks: Well said. That is the whole point. No cribbing. Agree with you there. And i agree with your concept of God there. Some any rand theory there, isnt it? :)
Still_figuring_out: I am happy that the post found some significance in your context. Btw, u dint answer my question in the earlier post. In fact, u make me ponder more. :p
yah kinda ayn rand ideas... but they are mine ;-)
still_figuring_out: Good that you realized it.
And yah u guessed it right... easier said than done
LOL.
i did. i asked you what made you wonder..??
Laks: I agree with you till the last para.
Your opinion about god is one of the side products and not the whole purpose.
There are different people and they have different levels of mental(psychological) strenths and attitudes towards God.
There are very few people who crib on the name of God, so its not wise to generalise and summerise God as just another way for cribbing.
hi anirudha,
I don't care about God,nor am I concerned enough in order to waste time to proove or disproove his existence. I am not a believer, I am not an atheist and I am not an agnostic. I don't want to place myself in any of the categories that the society has created. I am a human being. My happiness is my purpose. There is nothing below it or above it in life that i want to achieve.
hey...nice && thot provocaking post ther

hi fun spume,
Thanks! :) Glad that the post served its purpose.
Wow dear.. Whattta template..Awesome..
Keep goin..
BTW, the moment I read the headline of the post "Why Me", I thought this will be about why you are the lucky one to have such an amazing purpose in life. ..
But then, headlines are often misleading ..
don't want to comment on comments, but well served ;)
Hey pradeep,
Thanks for the compliments. :)
Am thinking of writing the next post on the story behind my template itself. :))
And hey, i am getting flattered. The ppl here might start to assume that i pay you for writing good comments for my posts. :D
KN, nice background. so sporty.
Instead of Asking questions abt self, Try to feel that Somehow "We are rewsponsible for each and every thing".Implications or repurcussions or compliments of our action/deeds/thoughts etc might be visible at MICRO level. But some where these micros affect MACRO (read "National or global") level also.
I hope to get some of answers for such questions, by above thought.

Yeah sandeep,
Thanks for the visit. Surely, i will try to answer some questions at least related to the sports domain. :)
An afterthought: the question that I ask myself 8 times a day is:
"Why not me." You know the situation.
